Byothr Iris & Praline bottle in hand, under open sky

The Byothr project.

Byothr was born from an uncomfortable question: can you sell a dupe with the margin of an authored brand? Dupes sell price arbitrage. Niche brands charge a premium because they built meaning. The project exists to find out whether narrative and craft can move the purchase from one to the other.

The terrain revealed a precise tension. There are people who want the niche olfactory repertoire and the ritual that comes with it, but for whom the price of the imported bottle is a barrier. And who, above all, do not want to feel they are buying a copy. What the brand needs to sell is not a discount. It is the way out of that tension without embarrassment.

The decision was to build the house on recognition, not on mystery. Modern perfumery runs on a short, shared vocabulary, and Byothr composes inside that language instead of pretending it invented another. Bergamot cut with pepper. Vetiver kept wet. Cardamom over resin. That is why the brand names the reference instead of hiding it, and names it after the matter, never before: the accord leads, the reference confirms.

The name was invented on purpose, with no descriptive weight, reading as by other. Meaning came to live in the object and the photography: one bottle for the whole line, sphere or cylinder cap, gold collar, and a label that reads as a document, with top, heart, base, concentration and volume. The white box carries the name once, in relief. The money is in the glass, in what is inside it and in the paper. Not in the myth.
